| Village Youth
Democracy PDI-PDA focuses on the belief that youth can play an active role in shaping the democratic foundation of Thailand. Engaging youth from early to participate in the development of their communities’ governance is inherently democratic; the result is a more responsible community with less corruption. To build a new generation of health, development and integrity conscious groups of youth between 14-24 years at the village level, PDI-PDA has established an education campaign. Village youth are elected as members who are then trained to identify key issues of health, development, poverty reduction, environmental education, human rights, gender equality and transparency in their communities. The education campaign is a hands-on way for youth to learn about life and healthy behavior. They are also trained in research and project preparation. All projects must undergo public hearings and all financial information publicly displayed. PDI-PDA assists with management throughout their involvement. |
